What To Expect During The Procedure

LASIK involves reshaping the cornea. To do this, the doctor will carefully create a flap on the cornea, use a laser to reshape the corneal tissue, and then reposition the flap. 

The entire procedure is fairly quick and can usually be completed in about 15 minutes per eye.

You'll be offered a low dose of medication like Valium to help you relax, along with numbing eye drops.

After The Procedure

Some patients experience improved vision immediately after the procedure, however, it is normal to experience some haziness or fluctuations in vision during the first 24–48 hours.

It may take some time for your vision to stabilize completely, and you may experience dry eyes or minor discomfort during the healing process. Your doctor will provide guidance and may recommend the use of artificial tears.

Postoperative care is essential to monitoring the healing process and addressing any concerns that may arise. Your LASIK doctor will schedule follow-up appointments to assess your progress and address any questions or issues you may have.
